We are thinking of splurging on a trunk this year. At the moment, Kirsten's and Addy's trunks hold the most appeal for my daughter.

If anyone has either of these, would you please post reviews. Thanks!

I just received Addy's trunk the day before Thanksgiving. Overall, Josefina's trunk is still my favorite, but since you didn't ask for opinions on hers I will give my opinion on Addy's.

I am really impressed by this trunk. I will say it is extremely heavy. Heavier than Josefina's trunk. It is made of real wood and is very large. I guess from the description I was thinking it would look a little more like an antique and the wood would have a somewhat rough edge, but it is still nice. There is a copy of a newspaper from Addy's time attached to the underside of the top of the trunk and on the bottom. It is laminated so it doesn't feel like paper. There is a large holding area on the bottom and the trunk has a wooden tray that lays on the top like real trunks have. The secret compartment that is mentioned in the ads is basically a part on the tray where you push down on one side of the wood and the other side comes up. It isn't really a secret compartment. More like a thin piece of wood laying on top of another so that when you push down on one side, the other obviously pops up. Does that make sense? Overall, I think the trunk is very well made and worth the cost. The design isn't as fancy as Josefina's, but it is well made and will last. Another thing I like about Addy's trunk is that the top is flat so I can stack Josefina's trunk on top of Addy's. I don't have Kirsten's trunk, but I hope this helps with Addy's.

Like you, historylover, I have both Josefina's and Addy's trunk and Josefina's sits nicely on top of Addy's. But Addy's trunk is gorgeous.
It's well made, sturdy, and pretty. It takes a beating (as it has from me for YEARS) and still holds up nicely. There's not much to the "secret compartment", but that's where I keep a lot of Addy's smaller things that I don't use as often (her mancala set, the thumb piano, the puppets, etc). But it definitely is worth the price. I can't comment on Kirsten's trunk, as I don't have it (yet! hopefully after Christmas if I've got some extra money!). But I do like the trunks. I think they're great! Happy buying!

I have both of the trunks. Both are very well made. The only difference with the inside is that Kirsten's has three divided compartments and no doll shelf that lays on the top. This eliminates some storage compaired to Addy's trunk. With Addy's trunk you can put all her accessories in the doll holding area. There is also a fun secret storage for ribbons and small things.

I have them both! So I will try to give a review of both.

Kirsten: Well made, great for storing her clothes and accessories. One thing the Ag site
show is that the bottom is divided into three compartments. they go about half-way up.

Addy: Very cute. The secert compartment is very cute. I use it to hold most of her meet accessories, and those little pamphlets that come (Or used to come! Now there seems to be mostly trading cards.) with the outfits and accessories.

If you have any more questions I will try to answer them!

Edited for spelling.

I saw them both at AGP and wasn't very impressed. Addy's was OK but the wood felt thin and light. I also got to see and feel Kirsten's trunk at a friend's and I was very disapointed in the quality. The wood is thin and light (wood/plastic?) and the rosemaling is a stencil or decal and looks fake. If you know a woodworker, have them make you one instead. My dad made Kirsten's trunk for me and it's far nicer than the AG version and it doesn't have the three little compartments so it fits a LOT more stuff. I have all of Kirsten and Addy's outfits in there plus a few accessory boxes.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">But if you have Kirsten's bed it supposedly fits in to make a doll shelf.

Another thing is that you have to take the lid right off Kirsten's, but with Addy's you just lift it up.
